Interacting with a Defi protocol can be a bit of a challenge. Don't worry though, we've created a range of DeFi Glossary to help you get comfortable with BridgeSwap !

Key Terms

DeFi: Short for "decentralized finance", a catch-all term for financial services that are provided on public blockchains, including swapping tokens, adding liquidity, staking in pools, farming for yield, and more.

Decentralized Exchange (DEX): A protocol that uses smart contracts to allow users to swap between crypto tokens without a centralized intermediary.

BridgeSwap's core product is DEX.

Swap: To trade some amount of one token for an equivalent amount of another token.

BridgeSwap's DEX allows you to swap tokens on the BNB Chain as of now but soon we shall expand our DEX on other blockchain.

Liquidity: The extent to which an asset is available to be bought or sold. In the context of a DEX, the amount of crypto tokens that can be traded for one another.

Liquidity Pool: A combination of two crypto assets that allows a decentralized exchange to facilitate trading between the two tokens.

BridgeSwap offers users the ability to create liquidity pools of token pairs that are native to BNB Chain.

Liquidity Provider: Someone who adds liquidity to a protocol by contributing 1:1 amounts of two crypto tokens to a liquidity pool.

Users can become liquidity providers using BridgeSwap's DEX.

LP Token: A new token that is created and granted to a liquidity provider as a "receipt" of the liquidity that they added to a liquidity pool.

Users that contribute to a liquidity pool on BridgeSwap's DEX are granted Bridge-LP :- BridgeSwap's native LP tokens.

Stake: To contribute crypto tokens that you own into a protocol to earn rewards.

BridgeSwap provides users the ability to stake BRIS in Staking Pools or Bridge-LPs in Yield Farms.

Pools: A protocol that allows users to stake one type of token to earn either more of the same token that was staked, or other tokens. Staking Pools can be expressed in the following format: "Stake [token type], Earn [token type]."

BridgeSwap offers single-asset staking Pools, including a Stake BRIS, Earn BRIS in Pool. Users who stake their BRIS into this staking Pool earn additional BRIS as a reward.

Yield Farms: A protocol that allows users to stake LP tokens to earn tokens as a reward. Yield Farms incentivize users to add liquidity to a DEX so that the DEX can continue to facilitate token swaps between the two tokens in the liquidity pool.

BridgeSwap offers Yield Farms that reward users with BRIS for staking their Bridge-LP tokens.

APR (Annual Percentage Rate): The rate of return on staked assets, exclusive of the effects of compounding. These are subject to change based on a number of different factors.

BridgeSwap lists Annual Percentage Rates of return for Staking Pools and Yield Farms in terms of APR.

Create a Wallet

To get started on BridgeSwap, the first thing you will need is to create a wallet that supports BNB smart chain .

When you create a wallet, follow the guide carefully and safely back up your recovery phrases.

Get BEP20 Tokens

The native tokens of BNB Chain are on BEP20.

To do most things on BNB Chain, you will need to pay gas, which comes in the form of BEP20 BNB.

You will also need the BEP20 version of any token you want to trade, stake, etc, on BNB Chain.

To get BEP20 tokens, we recommend the below ways:

🔸 Binance.com - You can withdraw tokens as BEP20 via your Binance account (if you have one). Bear in mind you need an account to do so.

You can also withdraw BEP20 tokens from other centralized exchanges that support BEP20 tokens BNB smart chain network.

Connecting Your Wallet to BridgeSwap

To connect your wallet to BridgeSwap, please follow the steps below:

1. Make sure to verify the web address above, and avoid using search engines to find our site. Some search results present fake BridgeSwap phishing sites which could compromise your wallet.

4. If you have multiple wallets within the same account, select the appropriate wallet address.

5. Once the correct wallet has been selected, continue by clicking Connect on the wallet popup.

6. Once connected, the homepage will show part of the public address in the top right hand corner of the screen

Your selected wallet is now connected to the official BridgeSwap DEX website. You can now swap tokens, add liquidity, stake in Pools, Yield Farms, play lottery and more !
